Joyful in Tribulation

Many people that I love are going through the worst trials of their lives.  It seems impossible that they could be joyful in the midst of them, but that is what God has commanded us to do.  "Rejoice always...give thanks in all circumstances; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you."  (1Thess. 5:16,18)  We must choose to give thanks, even in the difficult times of our lives, if we are going to be obedient to our Lord...and it must be a deliberate choice everyday.  "This is the day that the Lord has made, I will rejoice and be glad in it!"  He is always working for our good and for His glory, He is always directing our steps, He is always working to conform us into the image of His Son...that we might be perfect and complete, lacking in nothing.!

"Rejoice in the Lord always; again I say rejoice...and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus."  (Phil. 4:4,7)

Do you see the direct correlation here between rejoicing and having the peace of God in your heart?  We rarely understand why God is sovereignly leading us down a path of difficulty and suffering, but we must trust Him and keep our eyes upon Him...not the problem.  "For we walk by faith, not by sight."   (2 Cor. 5:7)

"You keep him in perfect peace whose mind is stayed upon You, because he trusts in You.  Trust in the Lord forever, for in the Lord Jehovah is everlasting strength!"
